February 2020 Meeting – with Guest Speaker, Ruth Wedge

In February, we welcome Ruth Wedge – Creating Images with that ‘Rockwell’ feel.
 
Join us on February 19th for our next meeting as we welcome guest speaker, Ruth Wedge. She reveals how she develops her images from concept to completion.
 
During her program you will learn:
 
How her vision begins
What inspires her
Her technique of processing her images
 
Ruth will demonstrate her workflow, starting with a raw image and taking it to completion in Photoshop as time permits.

BIO: Ruth began her career in photography in 2003 when she opened her studio in Averill Park, NY. Using the massive array of costumes she aquired from a previous business and her love for children along with her imaginative mind, it was an easy transition to create a niche market for Norman Rockwell-like images. She joined PPSNYS in 2010, followed by PPA in 2015 when she began working on her PPA Masters degree. Ruth has earned numerous awards and Merits at PPA International and State level competitions including Merits, Courts of Honor and Judge’s Choice Awards.

Reservations are Required

Prepare your images now…or just come to look and listen! It’s a great way to learn from the judges.

You must be a member and be present at the meeting for your images to be judged and/or critiqued.

Here are the rules…
Image Size: Longest dimension 4,000 pixels (20 inches at 200 ppi) Color Profile: sRGB or Adobe 1998
Named as: Image Title.jpg (Sample: New York at Sunrise.jpg) Must be exact name of Print
Saved as: JPG, quality 10
Total File Size: Not to exceed 3.5 MB
3 Categories: Portrait * Weddings/Events * Illustrative * Artistic (NEW!)
Max Entries: 6 images

‘Print Submission Form’ will no longer be used!

In an email, identify each submission EXACTLY as follows:
Last Name,First Name,TITLE,Category Sample: Smith,Jennifer,NEW YORK AT SUNRISE,Illustrative (no space after commas) Repeat for each submission.

Send images as attachments to the email. Subject format for email -Month Year Print Comp (Sample: Jan 2020 Print Comp) Email to Eli Sloves, esp377@optonline.net.
