Owen-9353_Paul_PPSNYSworkshop_2014_RetouchEvery artist works in a preferred medium. As photographers, our medium is light. For us, the use of light and shadow creates the illusion of depth in two dimensional images. Light has several variables that we also must take into consideration and control when making images: direction, intensity, color temperature and quality. What defines a true professional is the ability to see the light, determine if it is perfect for the task at hand and then have the capability to modify or substitute the source if it is not. 0002_Retouch_LRLogo

My program is designed to raise your ability to see the light, select the correct photographic tools, plus utilize the proper lighting techniques in order to create three dimensional portraits and candids every time you hit the shutter. It’s all about being able to consistently control your illumination to suit every situation and subject.

Blue_Maternity_8x10LRLogoPaul’s Bio – Paul has been a professional photographer for over 38 years, during which time he has photographed 2500 social events and countless portrait sessions. He is the president of the Professional Photographers Society of New York State, former president of the Professional Photographers of Greater New York, a council member of the Professional Photographers of America, as well as a member of both the American Society of Photographers and Wedding and Portrait Professionals International.

HVPPSNY Presents - Trish LoganJoin us for Print of the Year and our speaker Trish Logan as she presents:

How to Pursue Your Passion…AND Profit Series!

BRANDING & EXPANDING

This program will explore and discuss ways to grow your business in a changing marketplace by developing your brand, distinguishing yourself from your competition by building professional credibility as you increase your sales and add new services.

We will discuss how to add volume business to a boutique studio model to gain repeatable, predictable income year after year and how to diversify your blocks of business to insulate you from slow months in studio sales.

We will cover the following topics as we work to create realistic long and short term goals for business growth and expansion into new markets:

Some of the topics we will be discussing include:

•How to differentiate yourself from the competition with products and services and how to add more value to your brand.

•How to find clients that believe in your vision and want to tell the world. We will look at how to produce loyal customers that will return time after time and refer their friends.

•Talk about why you should have a 1yr, 3yr & 5yr and even a 10yr plan for your company that includes setting attainable goals for growth.

•How to find clients that are open to your services. Understanding the clients you want by looking at demographics and data.

****Please remember that the Print of the Year is open only to prints presented during the 2014 year’s competition. No new prints will be accepted.*****
